What to Expect

Engaging Discussions

Calli has developed a version of the Socratic seminar that empowers students to create their own discussion questions to guide our literary conversation. No boring lectures here! This will be a student-centered learning environment that fosters critical thinking skills through the asking of good questions.

Well Paced Curriculum

Each semester is carefully paced to provide a challenging, yet manageable, curriculum for students. Along with weekly reading, students will complete 2 to 3 major assignments per semester & maintain a Writer’s Notebook to engage with texts and practice writing skills. Learn more about curriculum here.

Calli is the kind of teacher every student hopes for: kind, joyful, and impassioned. Her genuine love of literature informs every aspect of her teaching, and she can light a spark in even the most reluctant of readers. Thoughtful and intentional, Calli builds trust with her students because they know—and can see in each daily activity—that she has developed a meaningful plan for their learning.
